Adam walked with a limp, one hand clutching his side, the other pressed lightly to his face. Blood ran down the corner of his mouth, cutting a dark streak over the pale skin of his jaw. His sword was sheathed, hanging off his belt like it had been forced in hastily. He muttered under his breath, voice rough and low.
