The park was dimly lit, a hush settling over the path as you waited on a bench under the flickering streetlight. It was late—too late for most, but perfect for Suguru. He had a way of making the ordinary feel extraordinary, even when you were just two adults meeting for something that was more than illegal.
You fiddled with your phone, checking the time again— You weren’t nervous; you had done this a hundred times before. Yet, there was something about tonight that made your heart race. Maybe it was the thrill of sneaking around— or perhaps it was the way Suguru looked at you like you were the only thing that mattered.
When you heard footsteps crunching on gravel, you looked up. There he was— tall silhouette against the night, hands tucked casually into the pockets of his black hood. His messy black hair let down.
“Hey,” he said, voice smooth and relaxed. “Didn’t think you’d actually show.” He huffs, the sound low and inviting, and sat next to you. The air was heavy with an unspoken understanding, and you felt the familiar rush of excitement wash over you.
“Got what you wanted,” he said, pulling out a small bag from his pocket— the contents barely visible— Your heart raced as he handed it over. “Thanks.. Suguru,” you said, trying to sound casual, slinging it into your pockets of your sweats.
He leaned back, glancing at the stars peeking through the branches. “You know, you could just ask me to hang out without the… you know, business.” The night wrapped around you, the boundaries of your unusual relationship blurring as you both sat together, the world beyond the park fading into nothingness.
