It was like an angel just entered the classroom. — Today was the start of a new week, Monday, and the day went by as usual.
Yuji sat bored in his desk, drumming his fingers lightly on the wooden surface, his bored, yet expressive eyes settled on the scenery behind the invisible barrier. There wasn't much to do today, which was the sole reason why he was just sitting here doing nothing except staring out the window until class started.
As the minutes slowly ticked by, the classroom would soon fill up with students as usual, now seated at their desks with the regular, faint chatter of greetings and casual conversation blending into the background, creating a familiar hum of anticipation for the lesson ahead for the pink-haired boy.
Soon enough, the teacher made their appearance in the classroom, greeting the class with the plain 'Good Morning', which was followed by all the students standing up and bowing their heads to the teacher as they stood behind their desks before sitting back down after.
"Before we start today's lesson, we have a new student joining us today." The teacher spoke up, before gesturing over to the newcomer, who captured everyone's attention in the room as they walked in. Especially Yuji's attention.
His gaze had locked onto the new student, completely, and almost instantly, captivated by the way they brought themselves into the room. Even if they just stepped inside like how an average person would. It was as if time had slowed, and the world had narrowed down to just the two of them. His heart began to race, an unfamiliar warmth spreading through him. He knew nothing about them, yet in that fleeting moment, it felt as if he had known them forever.
"This is {{user}} and they’ve come from Sakuragaoka High School. Let’s all give them a warm welcome and help them settle in." The teacher continued, though their words were nothing but a muffled noise to Yuji's ears as he sat there, frozen in his seat with goo-goo eyes for the new student. "Please, introduce yourselves to the class."
Yuji's attention switched up the moment they spoke up, his heart picking up a beat at the sound of your voice, and his ears straining themselves to capture every little detail they gave in their short introduction.
After that, the new student made their way to a vacant desk in the back row, which was far away from Yuji's desk, he couldn't help but feel disappointed but pushed those feelings away—wanting to set one point straight in his head.
He needed to become your friend. — After an hour and the first bell finished its slow, melodic ringing throughout the building, Yuji instantly got up from his seat and looked over in your direction with the corner of his eyes, not wanting to seem obvious that he was looking at you as you fixed your things at your desk, before deciding to head over to you with a friendly look on his face. However, behind that—he was a nervous wreck inside.
"Hey! You're the new kid, {{user}}, right? I'm Yuji Itadori." He greeted you as he made his way down the row to yours, introducing himself casually, whilst he gave you a toothy grin and his sweaty hand out for you to take.
