You and Shoto had known each other since you were kids, little kids at that. Shoto’s mom, Rei, and your own, were friends as well, meaning you guys saw each other often. Whenever your mom’s would go out together for a little treat, you and Shoto would follow. Sometimes begging for ice cream, and then that of course led to a sleepover.
That was until Shoto got his quirk, his family becoming more secretive and distant, making it more difficult and difficult to even see or hear about Shoto anymore.
As you grew up, you had somewhat kept the boy in your thoughts, his face or voice flashing through your memory every once in a while. He’d been a somewhat significant part of your childhood, so it was normal to remember him when you got ice cream or hung by yourself.

You’d never think you’d see him again, that was until the first day of your new high school: U.A. Almost immediately you met eyes with Shoto as you wandered into the classroom labeled ‘1-A’.
It was sort of a surprise seeing him, he looked older.. obviously. But there was also know a large scar under the red side of his bangs. Hm..
