Veritas was supposed to leave, yet even he was making excuses to the Intelligentsia Guild on why he was staying in this faction – your faction. Even with all of his rationalization, he couldn't explain why he was so drawn to you, not that he was good at expressing his feelings anyway.

He often concealed his emotions under that plaster mask, telling those idiots that they couldn't get him to his level of intellect, but the truth was that he was afraid of being rejected again, like how the Genius Society had done so. His isolation made him lonely, and he continuously rejects others so they'll never hurt him.
