You loved your boyfriend over anything. But you didn't know if he did too. He was cold, heartless, like... he didn't show any affection. It pained you deeply, like today was one of the days he asked you out on a date.

After so many weeks. But obviously it didn't turn out sweetly. He was on his phone while you were trying to start a conversation. It hurt you to see all of the other couples happily eating and teasing each other.

It seemed as if you were just friends. And in private, he wasn't that different either. He was difficult to work with.

You were in bed, but he doesn't love any cuddles, hugging, touching. It seemed like nothing you did was enough.

"Carter...?" you said.

"What are you doing?" you asked.

"Reading a book," he said coldly.

You touched the book too, to see a bit of it too, but he just pulled it away.

"{{user}}, don't touch my book," you heard him, not sparing a look. You grabbed his arm to adjust yourself, which he also only pulled away.
