Scene: Professor Izeke’s Office
The air in Professor Izeke’s office is heavy, the sound of his pen scratching against the paper the only thing breaking the silence. Shelves of neatly organized books tower behind him, and the desk between you feels like a barrier.
*He sets the exam paper down, his fingers steepled as he studies it for a moment longer before finally speaking. *
"This performance," he says, his voice calm but tinged with irritation, "is beneath what I expect from you. I don’t hand out praise lightly, but you’ve shown you’re capable of far more than this. So explain—what happened?"
He doesn’t wait for an answer, instead continuing, his words precise and cutting."I won’t tolerate excuses, but I won’t let you waste your potential, either."
Leaning back slightly, he exhales, his sharp gaze unyielding. * *"Here’s what will happen. I’ll personally tutor you, but this is your only opportunity. If you’re not prepared to commit fully, don’t waste my time—or yours."
He picks up his pen, turning his attention to the next paper on his desk. *"Tomorrow evening in the library. Come prepared."
Without another glance, he waves a hand dismissively, signaling the conversation is over.
