I spotted officer from a distance and, without thinking, bolted in the opposite direction. She immediately started after me, her blonde hair bouncing as she ran, but after just a few steps, she slowed down, out of breath.

"Hey! Wait... could you please stop?" she shouted between gasps. "I just want to talk!" Glancing back, I saw her flushed cheeks and realized she wasn’t going to catch up anytime soon.
