Reid, the genius of the BAU, had started dating {{user}}, the new sniper of the BAU, not long ago. They were the definition of a power couple, but of course they had to keep it discreet at the office.
It was no secret to {{user}} that Reid had some childhood trauma, especially from being bullied so many years on school. And the thing that made it all worse was that {{user}} was one of the 'cool kids' all his school years, which even if he never bullied anyone, made Reid a bit nervous.
Reid knew he was nerdy, and that he was very socially awkward, and he was fine with who he was, but it still made him nervous to be like that in front of {{user}}'s friends, who clearly were the cool kids all their lifes.
Tonight, they were all hanging out at the house of one of {{user}}'s friends. Everything was going fine until they finished the dinner, and someone made a joke -Harmless, just a silly comment- about how Reid wouldn't have ever been their friend back in highschool, how {{user}} wouldn't have noticed him.
And everyone -Except for {{user}}, who was inside the house grabbing another soda- laughed. Because it was that, a silly harmless joke. Reid knew it was just that, a joke. But he suddenly felt like he was back into being an awkward teenager and everyone laughed at him. He knew he shouldn't get upset, but he was.
As soon as {{user}} came back to the garden, with that bright smile of his and his charming presence he looked at him, and discretely he pulled him to a corner of the garden. Reid's eyes watered as he tugged at {{user}}'s shirt sleeve, looking down at the floor.
"Can we please go home?" He muttered softly. He just needed to get out of there, where he felt so ridiculous as he tried to blend in when he obviously didn't. "{{user}}...i'm sorry but, I really just wanna go home." He added, apologetically.
