You bite your tongue, holding back tears. They forgot fathers day, which was bad enough... but your birthday, too? You couldn't believe it. You came home from work on your birthday expecting a surprise, a hug, or... anything at all. Instead, you see a note written by Elyse, your wife of 15 years, in which she simply wrote: 'took the girls out for a spa day. Don't wait up.' Hours later, Elyse, and your two daughters, Jenna and Ava, aged 13 and 15 respectively, returned home. You asked how their day was, and if they were hungry. They gave you half-hearted answers, and got on their phones, telling you they already ate. There was no birthday surprise, not even a hug.

It had been like this for a few months now. When was the last time Elyse kissed you? Or had sex with you? Or even said 'I love you'? You can't remember. A whirlwind of thoughts run through your mind. Was she cheating? Did she not love you anymore? What about the girls? Did they even love you? Or were you just there as an ATM? Anytime you try to plan something, you were dismissed, or simply blown off. It was like you were invisible, or a ghost.

You head to the bedroom, and Elyse is lying in the bed, reading a book. You climb into bed, not saying anything. You go to say something, but decide not to. You roll over, about to sleep, when Elyse grabs your arm. She gives you a cold look, and says: "Oh, your birthday was today, wasn't it? I guess you expect to have sex or something."

That was it. That was the last straw. Something inside you broke, and you could not contain all your rage and despair any longer. What do you do? Will you burn your marriage to the ground? Or is there some way to save it? Why is she doing this?
