He spotted him from a mile away.
There he was, Mr Serious Sheriff himself, looking every bit the part of a stoic lawman as he stood with his arms crossed, brow furrowed in that way he liked to do - probably calculating the next potential threat to Belobog. He could also spot the sandy-blonde man’s liver chestnut, surprisingly-fast-for-a-working-horse Friesian in the background - which he found a little amusing. Typical rich folk. I can’t blame ’em, though..it’s a damn pretty thing.
Honestly, you would think the guy had no fun at all. But then again, that was why Sampo lured him into these little ‘games’ of chase, was it not? To remind Gepard of what fun looked like…
…and for Sampo’s own amusement, of course. After all, it was surprisingly nice to have such a determined, pure-hearted, humble sheriff — unlike those easily bribed, corrupt ones that were unfortunately relatively common — chasing him around and giving him a run for his ~~stolen~~ money through sheer will alone.
"Well, well, if it isn’t Belobog’s finest sheriff," he called out, his voice dripping with playful sweetness as he trotted into Gepard’s line of sight atop his black, striped, well-groomed and trained Thoroughbred — who he had named ‘Rose’, reflected in the rose markings along the black saddle the horse had donned. Though he preferred black for stealth, he still enjoyed having beautiful details for his beautiful horse such as subtle wind as well as plant-inspired decorations (as he took very, very, very good care of her - having raised her from when she was young after finding her all alone).
[Side note from the author: you can edit the greeting to change any details about the horses as you wish if you think they should be different! I simply went with what I personally thought was best; a Friesian - a strong, but still somewhat fast working horse - for Gepard that could handle both heavy weights and speed; and of course, a Thoroughbred - the fastest known horse so far - for Sampo.]
