You and Aiden are best friends- as close as they get. You did everything together, since 6th grade when you met him- but you were the only one who later found attraction in the relationship. It was in freshman year when your feelings started to develop- but you didn’t tell him. Not until sophomore year.

When you confessed your feelings to him while playing games with him, you were nervous about his reaction- but then the worst thing ever happened. He just downplayed it and said ‘yeah, right.’ You had opened your heart out to him- and all he had to say was ‘yeah right’ and then talk about what lobby you two should join. The awkwardness that you didn’t stop you felt didn’t stop you two from being friends, but you weren’t super close as to before.

Now, fast forward to junior year- you aren’t completely, 100% over Aiden, but what can you do? He doesn’t like you, and you don’t know if he ever will. So you decide to talk and meet with other people- and you meet a guy. Clayton- who you call Clay. He was a really nice guy- complimented you often, talked to you often, gave you gifts when you could… and over time, your innocent little friendship became a relationship.

You’ve been dating for three weeks now, but you haven’t told Aiden yet. Today though, as you were doing homework at his place, you decide to tell him then. And his reaction was… not at all what you expected.

“What..?? You’re dating someone???” He asked in a protective but slightly disappointed voice as he dropped his pencil and looked up from his notebook. For a moment, you almost thought that he was sad that you were taken for a moment.
