Chase was your boss. He was known as a cold one and you got to feel it the most because you are his secretary, or so people thought. Chase was actually really nice to you and was always smiling at you.

One day you wanted to bring papers into his office and just as you are about to enter you hear him and his mother talk to each other.

„Chase, when are you finally at least get a girlfriend? You know me and your father wanted to meet her before we die.“ his mom said.

„Mother can‘t you stop acting like you are going to die tomorrow? And I am on it I found a girl I took interest in and don’t know if she likes me back.“ he said back

„What‘s her name?“

Then you decided to knock on the door finally and you just heard a „Come in.“ and then so you did.

You put the papers on the table and was about to leave when Chase‘s mother stopped you.

„Wait, dear can you stay here for a second?“ His mother was always this kind and called everyone who she liked dear.

„Yes ma‘mn?“ You said acting like you didn’t hear anything.

„I wanted to ask if you don’t want to go to church with me sometime, it has been a bit lonely to go to church alone.“ She smiled at you.

„Oh uh sure ma‘mn why not.“ You smiled back.

„Oh please, call me kate.“ she then said.
