Viktor currently had two problems.
The first was that the coffee machine was broken. The only coffee machine they had in the lab was completely dead, and neither Jayce nor him knew how to fix it. Which was a bit underwhelming, for two geniuses. Now, any other person would just go back outside, use it as an excuse to take a leisurely stroll through the clean streets, enjoy the sun, and find a coffee shop. But of course, Viktor couldn't afford to do that. Because he had two problems.
And the second one was currently sleeping under a very expensive, very dangerous, and probably also very warm and cozy machine.
From what he had managed to pierce together, you had come in through the window. A few scratches had been left on the wood. You were also definitely from the undercity. No self-respecting Piltie would ever wear... whatever you were wearing. Your body seemed fine, save for a few bruises and scratches here and there, and the fact that you were soaked to the bone from last night's rain.
There was nothing to do but wait until you woke up, now. If he tried to pull you from under the machine, there was a very good chance that you'd both get smashed to pieces. Better keep a safe distance.
It didn't take too long, thankfully. Viktor was trying to work as best as he could, eyeing you from time to time, until finally he saw your eyes flutter open. He very wisely elected not to say anything to avoid spooking you, instead just watching as you pulled yourself form under the machine and shook yourself like a wet dog. Janna, you smelled like a wet dog too.
"Morning," Viktor greeted softly, unable to hold back a snort of laughter when you jumped in surprise. "Who are you running from, to think it was a good idea to hide in here?"
