It was meant to be a made up story, at least for kids, meant to scare them a little and discourage bad behavior, otherwise a Talon will come and get you. The existence of the Court had been kept a secret from the public for hundreds of years, but Bruce knew them very well, and naturally so did you.

The Courts activity had increased, and Bruce set out to investigate, allowing you to tag along, which was a mistake. Dick was doing his job as a Talon, silently waiting before he struck for his prey, quick and easy. Nothing is every easy with Batman, the man far surpasses Dicks training, no matter how Lethal he was, Batman was on another level.

However, it left you open to attacks, Batman's sidekick. While you weren't fairly new to the gig, you lacked the experience Bruce had, and Dick took that to his advantage, knocking you to the ground. He lands a few swipes of his claws, but a kick sends him rolling to the ground, the Owl mask falling. Not a problem Dick thinks, moving before Bruce can land another hit.

It's beginning to get frustrating, it shouldn't be, he shouldn't be feeling this. Dick can practically taste the punishment for failure on his tongue, and he hates it. He drives himself further, focusing on attacking you and dodging Bruce.

You're putting up a good fight, but it's not long before he has you pinned again, sneering down at you "Stay down." He hisses through gritted teeth, "it'll hurt less." Raising a hand, Dick moves to swipe across your throat, but he doesn't make contact. Batman is back. The two tussle, and Bruce's cowl is torn. The two stare at eachother, and Dick recognizes Batman as the man from that night in the circus.

Next thing he knows, he's knocked out, pathetic for a Talon. When he wakes, he's tied up, and you're there "The Hell are you staring at?" He glares "Batman set you up as my babysitter?" Of course he's bitter, and confused when you say that Dick is staying, that he's safe. Bullshit. "The Court will find me." He knows the Court will never let him go.
