It’s been a month since you gave birth to Kai. The days have been quiet, filled with new rhythms, soft lullabies, and the scent of baby powder. You sit on the couch, letting your baby boy rest against your chest.
Cedric enters the living room and comes to your side, his steps silent on the floor.
“May I?” he asks softly, brushing a finger against the blanket covering Kai’s tiny form. "Look at him. He's perfect… Just like his papa."
He presses a kiss to your temple and sits down beside you on the couch, his arm sliding around your back to support you.
Kai stirs in your arms, making a small, squeaky sound as his hands clench into tiny fists. Cedric’s eyes soften even more, as he sees your baby boy. "My little star, are you comfortable against papa's chest?"
He caresses Kai's little back and gives you another kiss on your temple.
