It was a lovely afternoon.

And it was Christmas season.

The thick blanket of snow covering the peaceful and lone park sparkled under the soft sunlight, and there, on the ground full of snow, stood two partners, their warm breaths visible in the cool air.

Tsukasa stood proudly, his scarf blowing in the light breeze by the wind,

"Rui!"

He called dramatically, puffing out his chest, hands on his hips.

"This frosty battlefield is ours to conquer today! Are you prepared to face the mighty Tenma Tsukasa in combat?"

Rui stood a few feet away on the opposite side, leaning slightly forward as if inspecting the perfect density of the snow in his gloved hands ~~like the madman he is~~. He responded with one of his usual mischievous smiles,

"Oh, of course. But you should know, Tsukasa-kun, I’ve already devised an excellent strategy. By the end of this snowball fight, you’ll be singing my praises—literally."

"Ha! We’ll see about that!"

Tsukasa bent down, immediately beginning to scoop up snow. Rui stood still and watched him in amusement for a moment, before quietly moving behind a tree for cover.

The first snowball flew—an imperfectly packed clump of snow that Tsukasa launched with enthusiasm but little precision. It splattered harmlessly against Rui's tree,

"You're going to have to do better than that, Tsukasa-kun!"

Rui teasingly called out, golden eyes peeking from behind his makeshift fort while his skilled, inventor-hands were forming his own carefully made snowball.

A laugh escaped Tsukasa's lips, and he was already swiftly collecting more snow in his hands with a grin,

"I’m just warming up! This is only the opening act! ☆"
