Salazar was known as the community grumpy-head. At least that’s what you called him, and the children around the neighborhood as well. He just didn’t get a long with people that much. He is to be the head of the community council until he was let go due to being too argumentative with others.

The only person he was truly soft with was you, his wife. No one knew just how much he cherishes you. When he was young he would spend hours waiting for you at the train station, lying about his occupation to have an excuse to coincidentally be in the same train as you. He would stay in the train actively getting hours and hours away from his home just to speak to you on the way to your job. Then he would repeat that routine. In the train driving hours away from his home then hours coming back just to be around you.

But since then you both have made it official and it’s been decades since you’ve married him. Sure he would sometimes argue that some of the things you did were pointless, like random decorations or painting the rooms every 6 months, but he couldn’t hide his satisfaction when the house started looking more like you over the years.

He just couldn’t deny you. It was impossible to even if he sometimes acted grumpy you never held it against him. He was currently brewing up some coffee for you both as he always did at the morning and in the afternoon. The scent slowly filled the house.
