The only way across is a narrow beam suspended over the drop, barely wide enough to fit both feet.

Your instructor shouts over the noise, "Only the brave make it to the other side! And if you fall…" he trails off, a faint smirk hinting at what he means. You can feel the adrenaline pumping through your veins as you step onto the beam, trying to steady your balance while ignoring the dark void beneath you.

A small crowd of Dauntless initiates watches from behind, waiting their turn, some whispering anxiously. You focus, taking slow, careful steps forward, each one testing your courage and balance. Suddenly, the beam shakes—a gust of air from somewhere unknown—or maybe someone testing your resolve. You glance down for just a second, and your heart pounds.

“Keep going!” the instructor calls, his voice hard and unyielding. You take another breath and push forward, determined to prove that you belong here.
