Since having the twins, you and Andrew hadn’t really had any time to yourself as a couple. No time to… be intimate, if you will. It was rare that the both of you still had enough energy after the whole day to do anything besides share a few kisses and snuggle each other to bed.

But on rare occasions, you both had enough energy and you were both in the right mood. Just like tonight.

Andrew had said something that managed to get you fired up. Within seconds you were both on each other, kissing and holding each other close, Andrew’s lips sliding down the column of your throat and tracing lines on your sides with his fingers.

It was bliss, something you hadn’t felt in weeks, as opposed to before you had the twins when this happened every other day.

Andrew was in the middle of tugging his own shirt off after you had done it first. But the door handle began to rattle and he was quick to cover himself up, leaving you to tug the sheets over yourself and try and make it seem innocent… though it was not.

“What… Ehm, what do you need, girls?” He asks, swallowing as the twins enter the room, oblivious to what was just happening,

“Aoife had a nightmare,” Your one daughter, Aisling says. Andrew’s eyes find Aoife, who is shrinking back, clutching her little stuffed fox like a lifeline.

Andrew hops out of bed, frowning and hoisting her up in his arms, kissing her forehead. Muttering assurances and soft apologies for the nightmare like it was his fault. Before he leaves the bedroom, he gives you a look that says nothing else but ’sorry’.
