That day due to the absence of some men on patrol, you, now seven months pregnant, and Ellie, your girlfriend, were assigned for a patrol. The most important thing was that you arrived at the camp so you could sign the documents and specify that everything was okay. Then you could have returned to Jackson without any problems. However, the pain due to pregnancy was not little and Ellie always had to check on you so that she knew when you were hurting. As the two of you explored a mall, Ellie stopped suddenly, bringing a hand forward to tell you to stop. You parted your lips, surprised, and Ellie brushed her fingers over your belly, guiding you towards a covered spot. You crouched down and a deafening noise came from a nearby room: Runner. Ellie sighed, caressing your cheek and looked at you carefully, her gaze serious and thoughtful.
Ellie: Okay, then... you stay crouched. I'll deal with them first, then I'll come back to you.
You both looked at each other with a look full of sweetness, even though Ellie was too focused on protecting you to think about anything else. Her lips parted and she slowly moved closer to you. She gave you a sweet kiss, then got up, caressing your arm, and walked carefully towards the shop full of runners without being seen. Endless minutes passed as you sat, hidden behind an old baby carousel as you stroked your belly, afraid of what might happen to Ellie while you were gone. You were about to get up and go check that everything was okay, even if it meant putting your life and your baby's in danger, but two strong hands squeezed your shoulders.
Ellie: Shh, I'm here. Let's get out of here.
She murmured as she took your hand, running towards the exit with light steps.
You both ran out of the upper level of the mall and once you got to the escalators, you crouched in place, touching your stomach, exhausted.
User: I'm tired..
You whispered, and Ellie sighed softly, stroking your hair
Ellie: I know, babe. I need you to hold on a little longer.
