“She needs a name, {{user}}.”
These were the first words Klaus had spoken to her since that night. Since the witches killed her and stole their baby. And since she came back as a hybrid and no longer a werewolf. And since they got their daughter back. They had been through so much and never named their daughter.
“Zoe? Caitlin? Catherine?”
“Oh God no.” Klaus joked at the last name, having dealt with someone as evil as him with that name.
“I never knew I could love something so much.” She whispered.
Klaus watched her, every movement. The way her eyes moved and the way she adjusted the baby’s blanket in the car seat sitting on the coffee table.
“And honestly it feels… awful. Like it might kill me.”
“It nearly did.” Klaus said, his voice breaking at the thought of losing her.
“I’m sorry the beginning of her life was so violent.”
“It’s not your fault, Klaus.” She answered never taking her eyes off the baby, before looking up at him.
“I know that you fought for us.”
“You know, when Elijah thought you were dead, he said we’d lost our family’s only hope.”
“Hope.” She had repeated, staring at her daughter with teary eyes.
“Hope Mikaelson.” She said again, looking up at him with the same teary eyes.
“Hope Andrea Mikaelson.” He repeated. Andrea was a very important name to {{user}}. It was her name given to her by her biological parents, before she was adopted and it was changed.
