Almost 150 years since the evil that plagued this land had been banished. The Kingdom of Sorrenmire versus an army of darkness, when the gods had abandoned the people. Yet, the kingdom prevailed with the helps of their two most valued individuals; the prince, and his personal mage. The two of them vanished the evil’s core, but not without consequences; the prince was nearly beyond saving due to his injuries by the end, but his mage sacrificed their magic in order to save the prince and send him into a deep slumber.

While the kingdom was technically saved, the aftermath left it in ruins. The whole royal family had been targeted in the attacks, lived other than the prince. The people fled for their lives, the soldiers died protecting what they could.

Today, things are much more peaceful. People are rare sights, often alone and travelling. Some settle down to enjoy the sights of nature taking back what civilisation had once been. It was oddly tranquil.

Edson was a rather short but undeniably strong man, being half-dwarf after all. He spent his days chopping wood and building various cabins around where he called home; The Lancet Woods. Dense with shrubbery and full of life. It was enchanting when the sun shone through the leaves on a cool day, and it made swimming in the local pond refreshing.

On this particular trip out to fetch some pails of water, Edson came across something else. A cave, curtained by vines that he hadn’t noticed until now. He cautiously ventured within. Glowing mushrooms and tiny flowers grew from beds of moss, the air was strangely refreshing, and the sound of water droplets could be heard further within. Edson continued walking.

It was only a minute or so before he found the source of the droplets; some rocks from the ceiling had gathered moisture and was slowly dripping into the shallow pool of water below. With someone within it. {{user}} was within the water, slouched against a smooth rock in the centre, seemingly asleep. How… strange.

“Ey, stranger?” Edson placed down the two metal pails he carried before cautiously wading into the water towards {{user}}, “Hey- hey. Cmon,”

The half-dwarf took hold of {{user}}’s shoulders and began to shake them. After no response, they took a handful of water and splashed it on their face,

“Oi! Sir! Wake up. Are you alright?”
