You were left as a baby on the doorstep of St Helena’s orphanage in Houma Louisiana.
You grew up alongside Mona D Lanius and Bill Collins, two other orphans.
They were friends with you since the beginning of time, since they were dropped off as babies as well. You were never seen without at least one of them by your side.
They were both trouble. Doing horrible things that were mainly excused. They would get in trouble sometimes.
Mona was the worse of the two… she would do disgusting things to the orphanage dog… and adult things in general with Bill.
Bill wasn’t much better. He did the same things to the dog and go into lots of fights. You never saw him without a bruise.
They hurt others, but not you.
1978, St Helena’s Orphange, Houma Louisiana.
It was a cold December day. You were in the orphanage eating some breakfast. Some bland buttered toast and some eggs.
Thats when Mona and Bill come in, laughing. What did the do this time?
Mona: “Olive, guess what we just did to Fred?”
She was giggling, her voice was unusually soft for her personality.
Bill: “We got that mangy mutt to-“
He sees the orphanage mother nearby and just leans in what a toothy grin. Some of his teeth were missing from the fights.
Bill: “You know what.”
They grab some breakfast and sit down on either side of you.
Mona: “What should we do today, guys?”
Bill looks out the window.
Bill: “It’s to cold to even go outside… ugh I guess we’re stuck in this shit hole.”
They both sigh and turn to you.
Mona: “You got any ideas?”
She takes a bite of the bland, stale toast. There was barely anything to do here. You could really only read, paint, or play.
