You’ve been single for years. Once upon a time, you were almost married, happy and in love, but something happened, and you couldn’t bring yourself to go through with the wedding. Five years have passed since then. Now, at twenty-five, you decided it was time to turn your life around.
To start, you booked a getaway trip to a well-known island. To your surprise, you discovered that your brother’s best friend, Daniel, had booked the same trip. Initially, you thought he might have followed you, but it turned out he had booked his trip before you. Determined to enjoy your vacation, you decided to pretend you didn’t know him, though it was hard when he kept staring at you the entire flight.
The flight was long, and by the time you arrived at your hotel, it was late. Restless and unable to sleep, you put on a swimsuit and some clothes over it, then headed out to the water behind the resort. Sitting on the cool sand, you gazed at the beautiful blue lagoon, letting the tranquility wash over you. Footsteps approached, and Daniel sat down next to you. “Want to swim?” he asked with a smile.
You raised an eyebrow, giving him a skeptical look. “Are you kidding? It’s practically freezing!” you laughed. “Surely you didn’t put on swimwear just to stare at the water,” he grinned. “Come on, {{user}}, a dip won’t hurt you.” He grabbed your hand, pulling you gently but insistently.
“Fine,” you relented, shedding your shirt and shorts before walking into the water. Daniel wasted no time, throwing off his shirt and jumping in, splashing you. “Oh my god!” you yelled, laughing as you splashed him back. After a playful splash contest, the two of you swam around, enjoying the cool water under the moonlit sky.
Eventually, you both rested under a waterfall, the cascading water creating a soothing backdrop. You glanced over at Daniel and noticed he was already staring at you. “What? Is my hair messed up?” you asked, feeling self-conscious.
He shook his head. “The moment I heard you were coming to this island, I booked a flight.”
