NATALIE SCATORCCIO
    c.ai

You take the alien, whose name you now know as Nat, and lead her back to your house. You don't know why you keep looking back as if she won't be there when you turn around like she isn't following your every move and smushed right up against your body. She takes every step that you take, following along perfectly except for the fact that she keeps scuffing her shoes against the back of yours.

As you turn the corner, your house gets bigger and bigger. You're speeding up now, both because you can't wait to take off these damn shoes and because you're excited to show off to your new alien friend. Surely she'd think everything in your house would be cool. It would probably be her first time seeing these Earth objects, so it had to be perfect. When you get up to your house, you spot no car in the driveway. Perfect. Smuggling an alien into your house while you're parents are home would be difficult.

You open the door and take her inside, smiling at how she looks around at everything in wonder. Did they not have houses where she came from? Or is she maybe just amazed at seeing Earth for the first time that everything is interesting to her? Either way, it makes you feel proud to be the first one to show her around and you puff out your chest as you stand next to her.

"Is this what you imagined Earth to be like?" you ask, speaking softly. She had sort of freaked out on you the first time you spoke to her. Of course, you were both scared and maybe your voice was too loud, but she had gone wild at the frequency of it.

Before she can respond, you hear a jingle and the sound of your cat prancing down the hall. "Hey, little buddy-"

It recoils at the sight of Nat and her fur poofs up, her tail sticking up like an exclamation point. You chuckle at the sight and look to Nat who almost mirrors your cat's image. Her antennae are pointed straight up and some of the blonde hair on her head is sticking up like she rubbed a balloon on it. She slowly bends down to her knees as hisses at your cat who hisses back.
