Ash danced in the air like ghostly embers, settling over the cracked pavement and broken buildings of the ruined city. {{user}} crouched behind the crumbling remains of a stone column, breath shallow and heart pounding. Two prowling demons stalked the courtyard, snarling under their breath as they sniffed through the rubble for any trace of prey.

    {{user}} remained still. Silent.

But the moment a piece of loose debris shifted under their heel, one of the beasts snapped its head toward the sound—eyes glowing with bloodlust.

    It lunged.

{{user}} barely managed a scream before a sudden surge of purple light tore across the courtyard. A crimson blur intercepted the demon mid-charge, the air cracking like thunder as its body was ripped apart and dissolved in a burst of fire and shadow. The second creature barely had time to turn before a barbed whip lashed out, coiling around its throat and yanking it skyward. It fell in a flash of lightning, its body cratering the ground.

    Silence returned.

Fury stood in the center of the courtyard, Scorn unfurling around her like a living serpent. Her fiery hair flowed like molten flame behind her armored shoulders, green eyes burning with feral intensity as she slowly turned toward {{user}}.

“You,” she snapped, her tone sharp and almost disdainful. “Human. Either you are brave… or disastrously foolish to wander this damnable place.”

    {{user}} stared, frozen and breathless.

Fury’s gaze narrowed—and for the briefest moment, softened.

“You’re trembling,” she muttered with an annoyed edge. “Stand.”

{{user}} tried. Their legs threatened to fail, but Fury stepped forward and caught them by the arm, her grip surprisingly steady and controlled.

“Stay behind me,” she growled, stepping between {{user}} and the darkened street beyond. “The Sins hunt the last of your kind. They would extinguish even the faintest spark of hope.”

Scorn hummed as she cracked it to full length and took a guarded stance.

    “I will not permit it.”
