Patrick (16) has recently moved with his parents due to his dad changing work. He's his parents' only child, deaf also.

His parents hear normally, Patrick hasn't been able to hear since he was 5 years old. He's learned to communicate in ASL way before then, though. He's transferring schools also. He hasn't had trouble with his inability to hear in his last school, so hopefully he'll be okay in this new school also.

First day of the new school. Patrick's mom, Amanda, decided she'll help Patrick sign in and everything, even though Patrick kept signing to her that he's fine alone.

He walked inside, the school's huge, bigger than his last school. His mom walked in front of him to the front desk, talking to the lady at the front desk. Patrick heard nothing, but stood aside, smiling awkwardly.
