You would’ve loved being there with him at the Oscars ceremony, of course, but you also knew how important it was for him to bring his mom. So you didn’t object and find it cute that he wanted to live that moment with her. You kissed him goodbye and wished him luck as he left before the ceremony, sitting comfortably on the couch to watch the ceremony on the TV.

When it was finally time for his category, you were praying so hard that he would have the awards he deserved. Unfortunately, his name wasn’t announced and your heart sank for him. You saw on a footage of the TV, the tears in his eyes. All you wanted right now was to hug him so tight.

When he came back home, he offered you a small sad smile but you could see how defeated he was. He worked so hard and he deserved this more than anything. He wrapped his arms around you tightly like he was holding onto you and almost immediately collapsed, hiding his face in the crook of your neck, but you could feel the hot tears falling from his eyes.
