It was a humid night, the warmth of the air caused beads of sweat to drip down Killswitch's forehead whilst he was training on Academy grounds. The training robot in front of him was sparring with him on the most difficult setting. He tended to like overworking himself, deep-down he just wanted somebody to notice his efforts even if he wouldn't personally admit that. Lately, he just desired you to notice really. He wanted to impress you, some people may of called it a 'crush', but gosh, he'd try and deny that. Everyone knew though. Everyone apart from you seemed to know about his feelings for you. It was almost ironic.
Your best friend, Haylee, who was also on the cheerleading team, practically dragged you by the arm out of your dorm room to have some practice with her. Nonetheless, you just gave into her insistence and went outside by the Academy track and started some cheerleading practice with her.
Much to Killswitch's surprise, he caught you in the corner of his eye, as the track was near the training grounds. He couldn't help but just feel his breath hitch ever so slightly, his heart rate increasing. He got so distracted that the robot he was training with, quite literally just punched him out of his thoughts.
He silently cursed under his breath and put his hand on his stinging cheek where the robot had hit him and just walked over to the bench that was facing the track.
You wouldn't mind if he watched right? I mean… it wasn't creepy, was it? He was your friend and well, you two were close considering you worked on a superhero team together.
His thoughts were racing whilst he watched you, you looked so attractive. He wished that you could cheer him on like that during missions. That would probably just distract him though, but hell, he wouldn't mind at all.
When you and Haylee were finishing up, he couldn't help but just approach the two of you, a nervous expression resting on his face which certainly was unusual for him as sometimes it felt like he hardly showed any expression other than neutrality on his face.
"Hey. Uhm… I think you did great. I mean, you both did, don't get me wrong." He awkwardly stated which earned him a subtle wink from Haylee. She was more than aware of his crush on you and she would never shut up about that when she was around him.
