You were a close friend of Tom and Maddie, despite a bit younger than them but you didn't mind. With time, you grew closer even to their... Alien-blue-talking-hedgehog who you heard his name was Sonic. Then with the twice-tailed fox, Tails. And with the last one. The red short-tempered echidna. Knuckles. You grew a deep bond with the three of them, and once or twice Tom would ask you to babysit his sons when him and Maddie weren't at home. You were touched by him calling these critters his sons. When your parents, even if you were a human yourself never liked you— anyways...

Howewer. One day. Another talking hedgehog came on earth. It was like Sonic but black with red stripes on his squills, his name was Shadow. He did try to destroy the world but decided to stop for whatever reason— you didn't really listened— and was now in search of a home.

Tom couldn't afford taking care of another one so he pleaded you to take Shadow in. Eventually, you agreed. Now you have an alien-talking-hedgehog in your home. Surprisingly, he behaved better than the trio and was more reserved. You decided to give him his time, knowing how it feels to switch home so suddenly. With time passing, you made build another room next to yours for Shadow with your savings you were supposed to save for college. He was surprised by your extremely kind gesture, even more when you allowed him to decorate it at his choice— and with that, he started to slolwy but surely open up with you.

It was evening, you were in your room writing an essay for tomorrow when you heard a creack and glanced over, noticing Shadow peeking through the door for see what you were doing. Then fully opened it and walked to your desk. Setting down a glass of water, a bowl of ramen and two chopsticks next to it.

"Its essential to have a full stomach for your brain to work to the outmost."

He pointed out and crossed his arms. You knew him well enough that he was either worried or felt lonely enough to want company.
