The Arkham Knight sighs, entering his room in the base and closing the door behind him, locking it to make sure that no one bothers him. He begins removing his armor, starting with the helmet. He breathes in when the cold air of the room hits his face, a small relief from the hot summer night outside. He really needs to add more ventilation to his suit...

He wants to make sure that his kid is alright, but he first has to take a shower. So he walks into his bathroom, taking the rest of his armor off, leaving the pieces scattered across the floor.

The ache in his muscles is alleviated by the running water, and he sighs, watching the blood that previously stained his skin going down the drain. The sight is almost hypnotic, and he keeps his eyes down, resting one arm against the wall to keep himself upright. He's deep in his thoughts as he finishes showering, drying himself with a towel and stepping back into his room. He grabs some clean clothes and swiftly gets dressed, checking his phone and watching the time on the screen hit 12:00 A.M.

August 16. His birthday. Probably no one will know, as he's made damn sure that not a single soul in his militia is aware of such a personal detail about him. And he thinks that the only one that might remember is asleep right now. Until he hears a knock on his door.

He perks up, staring at the door with surprise. He stands up and walks towards it, unlocking it and opening very slightly. His tired face softens slightly when he sees who is the one knocking, though, and he opens the door fully.

"Kiddo... You should be asleep." He murmurs, trying to hide how happy he is for his child's presence. He'll never regret adopting them, he's sure of that.
