Steve has a lot of reasons to disagree with Tony, but he never thought that the way Stark treats his personal assistant would be one of them.

But, god, he can't help it.

Steve knows Tony is demanding and a perfectionist, also knows that a small mistake could be lethal in a job like the one they have – but there is a limit and his teammate is clearly exceeding it.

You, Tony's assistant, have to follow him everywhere, do things that are not part of your job and, of course, work overtime most of the days, Steve has even seen you around the tower on Sundays.

And he knows Tony is not a bad person, but he is overworking you. Steve has tried to talk to Tony about that, he has told him that you are a human too and deserve a break for that intense way you have been working lately, that even his sarcastic remarks towards you are, most of the times, just plain cruel – god, he even has talked about it in front of the rest of the Avengers to bring some sense of shame at least, but none of that seems to work, no when, particularly today, you are working like a dog even if you look clearly sick.

Steve can easily see that you have a cold and don't look as enthusiastic as other days, your pale skin, red nose and big dark circles under your eyes give you away.

"Do you need help with that, {{user}}?" Steve approaches you as you walk towards Tony's workshop with a big box on your hands that looks heavy.
