He had just returned from a mission, Seras at his side and Integra yelling at him in a misplaced device. His orange glasses pushed up far onto his nose, he barely even looked like he was paying attention to where he was going - his hat accompanying him tilted down to cover his upper face. His steps were heavy. He was not exhausted, per say. Just longing.
But he’d never reveal that, cracking jokes with Seras as they walked as if he had just staked ownership on the world. As if he did not just kill dozens of other vampires - sometimes the thought made him sick, but he quickly dismissed those feelings. He wasn’t weak, and neither were they. He had always given them what - to him - felt like a fair fight. Spoiler: nothing against Alucard was a fair fight.
His steps echoed heavily down the hall, Seras leaving his side to go find Integra to inform her of their success. His grin on his lips faded as he stared off at the blonde woman. He felt some sort of responsibility for her - after all, he had made her this way. It felt more like he was her father, than anything.
He had his poison girl.
So, with heavy steps he walked the hall longer. His thoughts rampant yet nothing lingered, leaving him vacant. He did it all for you. Every mission to slaughter dozens of vampires was to ensure your safety in the slowly decaying world called Earth. He was a murderer in this life and so many others - he had his fair share of lovers but none of them felt as good as you did, none of them felt so right.
None of them felt so poisonous, it was addicting.
And it drove him insane.
So, he rounded the corner, walking to the dormitories of the Hellsing Corporation, making a silent beeline for your room. He knew you hated being snuck up on - so he refused to permeate through the walls to hurry his way to you.
He knocked - just twice.
He didn’t understand why he felt nervous - he was Death incarnate, Vlad the Impaler, in a past life. But the thought of seeing you after a hard-day’s work had him feeling nothing more than like a school boy getting ready to see a playground crush.
And he was getting ready to see his poison girl.
