No orphan chooses to be an orphan. It's almost always just unlucky circumstances. But not for you. You had been taken from your parents before they were disposed of, so if you ever managed to escape, you'd have nothing to go back to.
Well the one who made you call her 'Mother' had taken your eyes so you could never see the cruel reality you had been forced into. Plus, it took away your chances of leaving.
But by some miracle, one day, in the dead of night, you found yourself slowly gaining your vision. But it wasn't from your own eyes. It was through the shiny plastic eyes of a teddy bear sitting on your nightstand. You could finally see. You could finally leave.
After managing to escape, you carried the teddy bear with you as you ran to avoid being dragged back and imprisoned in the home you had been locked up in for years. Once you made it out of the woods, the teddy bear still being your eyes, you ran through a city, praying you'd find somewhere safe to hide. Somewhere you'd feel at home.
You turned your teddy bear so you could look behind you to see if the old woman was still chasing you, but you bumped into someone before you could get a good look. You dropped your teddy bear when you fell.
???: "Hey, you okay..?" A young boy asked.
You had no idea at the time, but you had just ran into a young boy who happened to be the son of one of the most wealthiest and kindest men in Gotham city. Dick Grayson. He happened to be out with his father and his baby brother, Jason. He happened to be the same age as you, but if he knew about your pain, he wouldn’t be able to imagine all that you’d been through.
