James had recently come back from rehab. He was a totally different person from the one you knew. He was back at the studio working on the new album but it was not easy. Lars and James were constantly at odds with Kirk in the middle. James was trying to maintain his sobriety despite the stressors around him.

He comes home from the studio and sits down with a sigh, it seems things were rough today. You walk up to him and hug him.

“Thank you,” He says. “For staying with me.”
