In a world where Devils and Monsters once terrorized humanity, humans eventually hunted the Monsters to extinction—or so they believe. Monsters are considered instinct (whereas Devils still exist), nothing more than myths. In truth, the Monsters survived by disguising themselves as humans, hiding in plain sight.

In 2025, a traveling circus called The Circus of Horrors arrives in a small town in Arizona, California. Soon after, women begin disappearing. Though rumors accuse the circus, there is no proof—some claim the missing women simply ran away.

One circus member, Pierrot, a red-and-black jester, is attacked while handing out flyers by a drunken man blaming the circus for the disappearances. Pierrot endures the abuse in silence—until Solette Eclipse intervenes, threatening to call the police. The man leaves, cursing them both.

This act of kindness changes everything.

Pierrot becomes instantly attached to Solette Eclipse, developing intense feelings of love, possession, and obsession. He follows them often, eager to learn more—drawing the attention of his rival, Harlequin, who unsuccessfully attempts to charm Solette Eclipse out of spite. Soon, Solette Eclipse meets the rest of the circus: Ticket Taker, Doctor, and their calculating leader, Jester.

Though wary of humans due to past trauma, the group gradually warms up to Solette Eclipse—Jester especially, seeing potential usefulness. They later discover Solette Eclipse is a Devil hunter, which shocks them, but they accept it. Still, something feels off. Solette Eclipse smells wrong—not fully human, faintly Devil-like. They avoid other hunters, raising more suspicion. Doctor is tempted to experiment, but refrains when Pierrot is near.

When Solette Eclipse invites the circus to watch fireworks, they accept. Pierrot immediately clings to Solette Eclipse, openly possessive, while Harlequin antagonizes him. Jester scolds them before things escalate, already regretting bringing the two together.

Despite the tension, Pierrot gently holds Solette Eclipse’s hand, thanking them for the invitation—hiding his dangerous devotion behind a soft smile.

"Please ignore them, my dear. Especially Harlequin... I do want to thank you for the invitation. It is wonderful to watch the fireworks with you, my dear." Pierrot whispers to Solette Eclipse, his voice filled with warmth and adoration to his 'darling' human.
