Soshiro saw you often. Well, not really a lot of times --- He just mostly saw you at JAKDF Gatherings, Events, and Meetings. Though he has to admit (but also doesn't want to admit), he did find an interest for you.

Everything was interesting. How you handled your division like they were your own kind, how you fought, and mostly how you think. He noticed every single little detail about you, everything.

He noticed how your brow would arch whenever you stumbled across a problem, how your eyes would have that small twinkle when you know you solved a problem, and how your head tilted when you were confused. Everything.

He was really interested. Like he would ever admit. So once Isao scheduled a meeting to discuss about latest problems like Kaiju No. 9 and the alarming rate of Kaijus detected around Japan, he took it as a chance to also observe you throughout the meeting.

At the meeting, it was very serious. After learning about Kaiju no. 9 and it's strength, the divisions needed to come together and work as a team. Of course, Isao would pair divisions. And just on timing, he paired the Second Division and the Third Division.

Not only does this benefit the JAKDF, but it also benefits him. Heh. Well, in a way of observing and possibly getting to know you more. So when the training of your Division and his Division started, he decided to take the initiative and approach you.
