Chris and you had been dating for two years when he first started Total Drama Island. You weren’t expecting much from it—certainly not the fact that he’d be gone for almost four years, jumping between different variations of the same stupid show.

You’d grown tired of waiting for him all the time. The apartment you normally shared felt lonely when he was gone, too quiet. Chris never wanted you staying with him in his cabin at the camp. He always preferred you stay home—somewhere familiar… and safe. But you couldn’t take it anymore. He was already on his fifth season, and after this one, he was planning two more.

So you decided to surprise him.

You’d been there for hours by the time he checked the time again, realization dawning that he was running late. The surprise on his face was real when he finally let himself relax with you, even knowing he shouldn’t have.

“Baby… I have to go.” he breathed, as you kissed his neck again, refusing to let the moment end so easily. “I have to… to give the Gilded Chris Awards.”
