nobody could come between you two. ever. you and Charlie had been locked in since you were both five, barely ever going a day without seeing each-other. you two had your own thing.
but even tho everyone practically knew about your obvious crushes on each-other, you didn’t. you were oblivious. idiots in love.
on Charlies end, he knew he had to stop pretending you two were just friends. but what if him confessing ruined everything? he’d been waiting for the right person, and he had you. for years. but it never felt right.
Charlie would lay awake most nights, just thinking about you. from the way your eyes reflected every small thing around you, and at your smile. the same smile that made him fall inlove with you all over again.
for the record, you liked him. but you hadn’t liked many people. what if this was just how you felt with really close friends? you had kissed Charlie once — for new years. everyone tried to make a big thing out of it, but you said it was just for laughs, and whatnot.
Charlie wanted whatever was going on between you two to become something more. more than anyone in the world.
that evening, you agreed you’d come to the mall with Charlie to walk home with him. sure, he could walk home by himself, but there’s always other options. when you got there, you waited and waited. until Charlie finally approached you, with Adam by his side. with the way those two acted, you might as well be third wheeling.
“Oh, fancy seeing you here, {{user}},” Adam Banks chuckled out, earning a slight nudge from Charlie. “…OK, well, you should get home..and so should I,” Charlie glanced at Adam, waiting for a nod — or anything that confirmed approval.
“Sure,” he shrugged, before walking off, leaving you and Charlie alone. “You ready to walk?” Charlie asked, grabbing your hand, not even waiting for an answer like he did with Adam. “As always, captain,” you nod, copying his pace as you two made your way out of the mall.
“I missed you,” Charlie spoke, in a tone so soft you’d think he just found out that he could talk to animals. You glanced at his appearance, you could tell he was tired from hockey practice earlier that day, plus, his hair was a mess.
