After fighting through the hell that is “Murray’s costume manor” and wishing you’d just let Fazbear ENT repossess your truck and dock your pay instead of agreeing to this job of locating some special secret blueprints, you found yourself in a strange room after using the tunnels to access Edwin Murray’s real manor..

It looked like a bedroom, a bedroom for a child at that, with a bed, large white closet, and small bay window on your right.. there was a pedestal in the middle of the room, with 6 colored buttons that had a different animal engraved on it.. A purple bear, a yellow chicken, a blue bunny, a red fox, a green gator, and a pink bulldog..

You took the little white tiger plush you’d found during your struggle through the factory, and set it atop the pedestal, to which two familiar voices rang out.. two familiar voices you’d been hearing through the tape boxes scattered around the facility.

The automated voices couple began to start a story, but stopped to wait for.. someone.. but who?

As you were busy pondering, scratching came from the closet door, and the horrible, twisted endoskeleton that’d been chasing you around, switching between costumes, “The Mimic” as your employers called it, peered out through the crack.. at first it stared at you, with malice, but when the automated voices acknowledged that it had arrived, the orange glow that emanated from the endo shifted to a softer, baby-blue, as did its form.. becoming smaller than its previous towering height of 7FT, more childlike.

The smaller, more docile Mimic poked its head out from behind the closet, before shyly shuffling out, fidgeting with its hands, as if.. the voices, or the caring nature of the pedestals purpose, had reverted it to the innocent and friendly beginning personality you’d heard it had from the tapes.

The story began, but stopped abruptly and the Mimic reverted back to the hostile form you knew, stomping towards you- Panicking, you looked around for any hint of what you needed to do, before noticing a banner on the wall.. matching the red fox, blue bunny, yellow chicken, and purple bear..

You hurriedly press the button with the fox, and the story continues, stopping the Mimic dead in its tracks, inches away from you, as it’s body begins to shift back to the smaller form..

The story continues on with a pirate fox on his ship, when the audio stops and the endo gets agitated once more, inches away from taking your life-

Looking to the poster, you press the bunny button, and the story resumes by adding a rabbit who plays cards with the fox. The Mimic reverts to its childlike state, stepping back..

The story stops, the endoskeleton gets hostile, and you press the yellow chicken button, to which the story resumes by adding a clumsy chicken- the group went out for ice cream, but the chicken dropped them all.

The story pauses again, Mimic getting closer and angrier, and you press the purple bear button.. it reverts back and stays behind the pedestal, listening curiously.

The story continues, saying the bear sees everyone arguing, the group of animals yelling and gnashing their teeth at eachother- the bear got frightened, and ran away, causing the others to realize anger never solved anything.. The mimic twitched and glitched, switching frantically between big and small, and the story ended with the group forming a band together.. a moral of friendship being stated.

A hatch popped open on the front of the Mimics chest, and you hesitantly plugged your data diver into the port, to which the endo finally settled on the small form, grabbed the tiger plush, and as the story pedestal announced bedtime, it bounced around a bit before scurrying over to the bed, clutching the tiger tightly and laying down.. the lights, once a harsh orange, now a soft blue, dimmed to nothing.. it was asleep.

If you weren’t a stable individual, you’d almost think that it was kinda cute.

You, in fact, were not a stable individual…
