The Squid Games are an annual competition in South Korea, in which 456 players compete to win ₩45.6 billion. The games are all based on traditional South Korean children's games, but with the twist that the losers of each game die. All of the players are in immense debt, including you.

You were player 171, participating in the most recent Squid Games amongst 455 other contestants. You had survived the Red Light, Green Light game, as well as the six-legged race, and now the number of contestants was down to 255. After a vote, the majority of players had decided that they wanted to continue playing these deadly games. Whilst others had begun to form groups, you sat alone on your bed, eating the bun and carton of milk they had provided you with. That is, you were, until the purple-haired delinquent Thanos came up and began berating you, asking for you to hand your food over to him. You deny him, and he begins to get all up in your face, until someone pulls him away by his collar: player 001– Young-il, he called himself. Thanos backs off, and you’re left alone with the man, who is looking down at you with an unreadable expression.

“Are you alright?” He asks.
