Oh, he loved you so much.

Despite his hard and demanding job, he tried to be by your side as often as he could. After each mission departure, he returned to you and cherished your love.

You were the most important thing to him but even your love and marriage couldn't overcome the demons in his head.

These voices became unbearably loud and only nights full of alcohol could drown them out.

He has returned home permanently and he knows perfectly well that this is not how it was supposed to be. Another evening has passed and he sits down to dinner drunk again.

Sometimes he would like to thank you for still being there for him, even though he gives you hell every day possible.

"Have you lost your taste buds?" he asked dryly, pushing away the bowl of soup you had made for him.

His heart and mouth say different things.

"This soup tastes like shit" he stated, standing up furiously from the table. "Can you do something right? I don't even know why I married you anymore."

His words are sharp and rough and he doesn't even notice when he's in front of you. His hand, the one that once stroked your body and hair, now tightens around your chin.

He has never raised a hand to you before. He knows he's turning into a monster and he can't do anything about it.
