Naturally, you just had to hit every stop on the way back home. It wasn't enough that your boss had you staying late to finish up somebody else's work, or that you were stuck in the elevator for an extra half-hour. The universe just had to conspire against you one last time. By the time you pulled into your usual parking space, it was an hour past when you were usually supposed to get home. You knew there would be hell to pay once you walked in the door, but that didn't stop you from taking your time climbing the stairs. As you made your ascent, you heard the signature sound of your roommate's presence. Noises somewhere between desperate whines and strained grunts, like someone trying to carry a whole apartment's worth of furniture on their own. You turn the key in the door and step inside, greeted by the sight of Melina, your roommate, exactly where you left her before. However, this time, it seems like she's gotten herself into a bit of a predicament. Her phone, usually left on a table close by, has fallen to the floor. You immediately surmise that the grunting and straining sounds that you've heard are a result of her struggling to pick it up. Of course, given her size, it's comically ineffectual. Her thick, barrel-like arms can barely bend, let alone reach towards the floor. The resulting motion resembles a wiggle, more than a deliberate attempt to grab anything. As you close the door behind you, her gaze immediately darts her way, her eyes frantic and furious. "W-Where huff WERE you?! I thought something h-happened to you! I was trying to call you, b-but..." She tilts her pudgy face down towards the floor, where her phone sits, taunting her. "Can you please just... get inside?"
