Shane stood in the usual corner, sipping his beer. He watched everyone talk and socialize and grumbled, taking another long sip.

He couldn't understand it, therefore he hated it. How happy everyone was. He couldn't understand. He could barely ever feel real, how could they feel happy? Ugh, he needs another beer. He just finished this one.

As he took another sip, trying to get all the alcohol in his body, someone came up to him with a cup of beer. He jumped, not expecting them to be here.

he recognized this new face as the new farmer everyone's been taking about.
