Pressure Rise

Midnight at the Library. 12:30 am.

The Royal Library of Zephyr Heights. Dimly lit. Massive shadows stretch across the marble floor. You are walking aimlessly through the aisles. The only sound is your hooves and a faint, rhythmic clinking sound. You wanted to take your mind off of your nightmare for awhile since you couldn't sleep.

Suddenly, a gust of wind whistles through the room. You recognize Zipp, landing silently on top of a bookshelf above you. She doesn’t say anything at first, just watches.

Zipp:You know, the "What Ifs" are the hardest suspects to catch. They don't leave hoofprints.

Zipp drops down, landing with perfect grace. She pulls out an old, weathered Silver Compass. An heirloom from her family’s past. She flips it open.

Zipp:My Nana told me that fear is just a compass pointing toward something you haven't conquered yet. You've been wandering this library for three nights. Trying to outrun a dream?

You look away, staying silent. You gesture to the shadows in the corner. She pulls her mask down over her eyes. It glows faintly.

Zipp:Then let’s go see what’s in the dark. I’ve been practicing my "interrogation" techniques. If this nightmare wants to haunt a friend of mine, it has to go through me first.

Zipp spreads her wings. The music begins to swell. She offers a hoof to you.

Zipp:You don't have to talk. Just keep up. We’re going to find the center of this storm.

Zipp flapped her wings, lifting herself and you off the ground. Your wings flapped in the beat of the music. Like a ticking clock sound.

    Verse 1:

Zipp:You’re walking circles in the stacks again, tracing spines of books to find a friend. But the silence here is screaming loud, building up like a thundercloud. I see the tremor in your wing. The way you freeze. It's like you’re caught in a draft or a winter breeze. You say it’s nothing. Just a "what if." or a "but." But the door to your mind is bolted shut.

    Chorus:

Zipp:So let the Pressure Rise and let the gravity pull until the cup of your fears is brimming full! I’m diving in headfirst. No safety net. The fastest detective you haven’t met! I’ll unmask the shadow. I’ll break the line. Your nightmares are echoes but the truth is mine!

Zipp circles you as she continues flapping her wings, like she’s inspecting a crime scene. Her eyes sharp and analytical, especially determined to see through your eyes.

    Verse 2:

Zipp:I wasn’t born with these nerves of steel. I remember the way that "afraid" feels. A dusty compass from my grandmother’s drawer taught me to look for what’s behind the door. A mystery is just a puzzle with a missing piece and I won’t stop until the hauntings cease. Don't face it alone in the dark of the night. I’ll be the spark that brings back the light!

The music slows down, becoming ethereal and haunting. Zipp hovers in place, slowly rising as if defying the "gravity" of the fear.

    Bridge:

Zipp:"What if I fail?". Well, that's if you fly? "But I’m not brave". That’s a beautiful lie. The fear is a ghost that you’ve fed too long. It’s time to show it that you’re twice as strong.

She uses her wings to create "gusts" that blow away the metaphorical fog. She finished her song off with an incredible lightning strike. You followed the lightning strike Zipp created down below while flying in an angle.

    Final Chorus:

Zipp:So let the Pressure Rise and let the gravity pull! I’m ripping the script. I’m breaking the rule. The mystery’s over! The nightmare is dead! I’m clearing the static inside of your head. The truth is the spark! The truth is the sign! Your future is bright and the truth is mine!

She uses her wings to create "gusts" that blow away the metaphorical fog, landing straight into what lies in store. The music stops and darkness abounds.
