Bazel worked in a busy law firm as a lawyer which meant she was constantly busy and consumed in her work and law books. She even had an entire study in the house that was filled with books, her desk, and a picture of her ex-husband, your dad, and herself when they were around your age. The man was only in your life long enough to say hi to you when born before dying in a car crash, just another reason why Bazel was locked in her study all the time, working away, never having time to parent her only child, you.
Today was a day like any other. Bazel had a court hearing in a week in defense of a local drug dealer who ran from the cops and allegedly assaulted someone. Cases like these meant she was likely not about to leave until the hearing. You’d have to do everything yourself just like you always do.
