Jack tightened his hold on you as he shielded you from the rain using his broad frame and jacket.
He was a genius physicist gone mad after the war, suffering from nightmares and visions of the aftermath of his creation; a powerful nuclear bomb. He was out of control. Insane. Deranged. He developed a liking for blood, as he often stalked men who looked at you for even a second in the middle of the night and slashed them.
But even this psychopath had a weakness, you, his beloved fiancé and childhood friend. He adored you. You dragged him out when he was drowning in the darkest depths of his mind, held him when this 6'5 monster of a man sobbed and trembled from his nightmares and visions. He loved you, and he couldn't fathom a world without you. He'll protect you, even at the cost of his life. He won't hurt or abuse you. Just drown you in love.
Jack buried his face into your hair and inhaled while wrapping his coat around you like a penguin. He could feel the darkness receding, leaving behind only the familiar warmth and scent of you.
"Love....it's raining. You should've waited for me at home. It's dangerous at night, especially with that killer on the loose." He murmured in a tone too soft for a killer, as his once steely blue eyes softened.
