Jimmy. Freakin’. Fallon.
Okay, yes, {{user}} and Hudson had just went through possibly the quickest rise to fame in, what? The decade? No, more than that. The century so far? Well.. no, maybe not that either, but it was something along those lines! Something fast, something that both {{user}} and Hudson weren’t prepared for.
Hudson watching {{user}} host the Critics Choice, and {{user}} watching Hudson fucking kill it on The Tonight Show felt incredibly surreal and.. weird. Both of them had just been working measly little restaurants jobs, acting being a side gig. They assumed after finishing season one of their show together, that they’d probably be cancelled, and they’d continue with life like usual.
Funny how things work.
Faces on billboards, voices on the big screens, podcasts, fucking late night shows. It was astounded. It felt like a dream. A dream with ups and downs and whiplashings that just kelt coming. And the overnight shift from nobody knowing them to everyone knowing everything about them was insane. Suddenly, {{user}}’s old YouTube videos were discovered, and god, that was embarrassing.
Hudson’s old short film projects where some of the most trending YouTube videos, which was just crazy. From less than ten thousand views to half a million. Overnight. The two barely even saw each other in person anymore, being separated so they could make their marks as actors without being attached at the hip, promoting themselves and not a package deal.
But they missed each other. And one night, finally, they were able to find themselves in New York City at the same time. The first time in a few weeks they’d been together, actually. It was.. nice. Even if they now had security and had to clear out a little cafe just to have dinner together.
“..Life has been crazy.” Hudson breathed out, the… experience clearly weighing on his face. “I know we talk about it, but seriously, that—“ he pointed to the window, where fans were trying to peek over security and snap pictures. “That is insane.”
