Spirit earned his name for good reason. He was known to be unbreakable, even when tied up, whipped, had guns shot at him, muzzled, saddled.. his spirit refused to be broken. Native Americans were treated horribly by so called by them ‘white man’. They did all those awful things to them, forced them into slavery, abused them, killed their young.

On that particular morning, Spirit, whose actual name was Calian, was tied to his designated post, when the barn door slammed open. Rather startled, he looked up, with a frown. It was too early for them to want him up, so.. what were they doing?
